Stayed February 2016 – Kerne Apartment

Stayed in the Cider Mill over Christmas, Loved it so much we re-booked as soon as we left. Well equipped, lovely wood burner, Sky-TV, Wi-Fi etc, super kitchen. Did take a little while to get the hang of the heating upstairs but would highly recommend to anyone.

Superb accommodation
Stayed with 6 others Xmas 2016. The building is medieval and looks beautiful. Our accommodation was set over 3 floors, a triple and double room on the top floor separated by a bathroom and shower. There is an on suite double on the 2nd floor along with a stand alone toilet. There is a large living room, kitchen and dining room on the 1st floor. The highlight being a wonderful log burner.(logs, matches and kindling all supplied). The kitchen is very well stocked and they even left us milk, tea, coffee, sugar on arrival, plus salt and pepper, toilet rolls and even homemade biscuits and cupcakes. There are several other accommodations on site ranging in size. Great value and a wonderful place to spend Xmas. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look and a good pub 5 mins away.

Stayed for a weeks fishing the Wye
We occupied the Priory apartment and were very pleased with the accommodation. It was comfortable, clean, spacious, had a useful cupboard for outdoor wear and space to put our fishing clothes, boots and gear we did not want to leave in car, plus a kitchen for us to cook breakfast and evening meals. The staff were exceptional and could not be more helpful. Fishing was good for time of year. This was our first visit to Flanesford Priory and our recommendation could not be stronger than we booked for next year before we left.

Keep returning
What a fabulous place to stay always so clean comfortable and relaxing. Close by wonderful walks, canoeing kayaking, mounting biking through boar filled Forest of Dean . Seen so many deer already. Local pubs and inn food is really good. The Priory can be booked for any number of nights you take your pick. NO SMOKING establishment. Everything a family needs and more. Always so clean and well maintained . They even do weddings in a marquee with Goodrich castle in sight of the lawned garden.

You know those places you drive by and say that would be really fun to stay there? This was one of them and I feel luck that I was able to book. My family loved it. My daughter gave me a high 5 for picking it out, the only one so far on the trip. Pictures didnt really do it justice. Great location sitting on the hill below the Goodrich Castle. Castles to visit, nearby towns, good food… the list goes on and on but I’m not going to spoil it for you go ahead and book and enjoy the area.

“Clean and tidy accommodation, very helpful staff”

This is the 3rd occasion I have stayed at Flanesford the two previous occasions were with my daughter, I cannot fault the cleanliness of the accommodation albeit that the carpets are now somewhat worn. As for the staff, all I can say is that they are extremely friendly and helpful I cannot fault them in any way and if they worked for me I would be very proud of their hard work and attention to customer service they are exemplary.

What a beautiful Place- Very clean and had all amenities including Sky cable with all the channels. But the best thing about this place was the location- the views are amazing, The town is close by, there are loads of near by walks/parks. I would love to return!

Awesome place
We stayed in the Cider Mill Apartments at Flanesford Priory for three nights in July. It’s actually a free-standing cottage of historic significance. It’s set apart from the main Priory building and very private. The kitchen table is crafted out of the original mill stones that they are not allowed to move. Spacious, unique, comfortable, with a giant, private patio with views out to the Wye. Staff very helpful and we would recommend this place to anyone and we will return again.

We had a lovely three day stay. It was good to be able to use the garden and the local walks were very worthwhile. The Apartment is lovely. The information in the folder provided was of an extremely high quality and very useful. Arrangements for getting in on arrival were excellent and those running the apartments were extremely friendly. We would recommend Coppett to Our friends

We stayed in the Courtyard apartment lovely compact space that in no way felt cramped. Our reason for choosing Flanesford was proximity to a wedding reception we were attending but we were delighted with the apartment and would have loved to stay longer-very well appointed with everything you would require.

wonderful apartment, clean and comfortable and well equipped. Good location, beautiful scenery  Plenty to do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

  • Stayed September 2015 – Kerne Apartment

Me and my partner stayed in the Kerne Apartment. We found the apartment very clean and comfortable and appreciated the little extras needed on a self catering holiday. The kitchen itself had every appliance you could possibly need. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly
The setting and apartments are very picturesque and we enjoyed lots of good walks with our dog who enjoyed himself immensely. We also visited the nearby town of Ross on Wye which had a good selection of shops and places to eat. We will definitely be returning in the not so distant future for another relaxing break. Next time we plan to canoe the river Wye which looked like a lot of fun. For anyone wanting to do this I would advise booking in advance as we could not book when we were there although it was a weekend.

A large group of us arrived at Flansford Priory to the wonderful smell of wood burning in the gorgeous log burner. I stayed in the Cider Mill which was even better than I was expecting. The views were incredible & the place was just stunning especially the master bedroom. Other friends stayed in the Wye & the Talbot which were also great & perfect for get togethers. We enjoyed fabulous food cooked with the superb facilities & went for some wonderful walks too. We cannot recommend it highly enough & cannot wait to visit again! A special thanks to Kath & Nigel for being so hospitable & making us feel so welcome. A great weekend had by all, Katie & friends.
  • Stayed February 2015 – Wye and Talbot Apartment

My hubby and I stayed in the Walford Apartment. It was clean, cosy and welcoming. We can’t fault the Priory. It was a pleasure meeting Kath. We will definitely be back. My husband enjoyed the fishing and was very successful catching a number of barbel, chub and eel.
  • Stayed September 2014 – Walford Apartment

My son and I required a location central for a fishing trip on the Wye. Flanesford Priory offered good quality comfort. It is so easy for self catering to be tacky but this location is anything but!! The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable, good bedding and towels, plenty of hot water and soft sofas to watch the TV [with a wood burner had we needed it] plus bags of parking space. There is a reasonable pub within walking distance Nicely done and we shall return in search of the elusive Wye salmon.
  • Stayed June 2014 – Priory Apartment
